The ones I own include Banarasi silk, Kanchipuram silk, Arani silk, Kora silk, Gadwal silk, Mysore silk, Pochampally silk and Patola silk. Each of them is unique in their own way and have a story of a different culture and tradition behind them.

So out of all these silk sarees that I possess I have chosen two of them that are my most favorite. Mostly I wear them at many occasions.

1. Kanchipuram saree- this is one of the best known pure silk saree originally from the town of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. These sarees have intricate designs on them made by the silk weavers in Kanchi that are said to be the descendants of Sage Markanda- The master weaver-god of the Hindu mythology. These designs mostly depict leaves, peacocks, parrots, swans, mangoes, lions, chariots, suns, moons and even features from mythological tales.

2. Tussar silk saree- this silk is the easiest to handle and can be worn at any occasion and event. Also known for its durability, as it is made out of shorter fibers. A popularity of this type of silk saree depends on the variety it offers in terms of colors and designs.
